Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, guided the meeting.

Present there were members and alternate members of the Cabinet Party Committee, and officials concerned were on hand as observers.

The meeting reviewed last year's work for implementing the resolutions of the sixth, seventh and eighth plenary meetings of the 8th Party Central Committee and discussed measures for strictly carrying out the policy tasks for this year on the basis of the important guidelines for struggle clarified at the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.

Ri Yong Sik, chief secretary of the Cabinet Committee of the WPK, made a report.

The reporter stressed that the tasks set forth at the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee are guidelines indicating the scientific and concrete orientation and ways for making the overall development period of Korean-style socialism have a firm aspiration and achieving bigger successes by bringing about a dynamic upsurge in the revolution and an inspiring banner powerfully arousing all the people.

The meeting strictly analyzed and reviewed the shortcomings and lessons drawn from last year's implementation of the Party resolutions.

The issue of further intensifying the Party's guidance and control for decisively stabilizing and improving the people's living was brought up for discussion at the meeting.

The meeting discussed in depth the issues arising in establishing the revolutionary discipline and order at the Party organizations at all levels and enhancing their activity and fighting efficiency and directing and subordinating the Party work to the thorough implementation of the Party's policies.

There were consultative meetings of panels for confirming the guarantee for the implementation of the policy-oriented tasks of the Cabinet and economic organs in accordance with the advance orientation and fighting strategy clarified at the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee and working out thorough plans for their execution.
