Present there on invitation were Boris Perez Abin, charge d'affaires ad interim of the Cuban embassy here and other embassy officials.

It was attended by Ri Chang Sik, vice-minister of Education who doubles as chairman of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with Cuba, officials concerned and working people in Pyongyang Municipality.

Speeches were made there.

Ri Chang Sik extended warm congratulations and militant greetings to the fraternal Cuban people who are successfully building a socialist state under the uplifted banner of independence against imperialism, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the victory in the Cuban revolution.

It is the steadfast stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to value and invariably develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries which have been put on a new high level thanks to the respected Comrades Kim Jong Un and Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, he stressed.

He affirmed that the DPRK would as ever strive to further strengthen the militant unity with the Cuban people and always stand together in the same trench of the anti-imperialist struggle for independence and socialism.

Boris Perez Abin noted that the Cuban people have firmly defended the gains of the revolution in unity for the past 65 years since the victory of the revolution.

The friendly ties between the two countries provided by Comrades Fidel Castro Ruz and Kim Il Sung, the historic leaders, have grown stronger generation after generation, he said, extending full support and encouragement to the Korean people in their cause of building a prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

He expressed belief that only victory will be always in store for the two parties and peoples of the two countries in their struggle to bring about a better future of socialism.
