Choe Ryong Hae Visits Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex
Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, inspected the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex.

Going round various places of the complex, he gave pep talks to its officials and workers all out for maintenance and reinforcement and increased iron and steel production in hearty response to the resolutions of the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee.

Familiarizing himself with the projects for building an energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace and establishing the Samhwa iron production line underway at the complex, he underscored the need to bear in mind the importance of the projects in further consolidating the foundation for Juche iron production and boosting the production, carry out phased plans without fail and attain the iron and steel production goal set forth by the Party by timely supplying raw and other materials and fuel.

He called for making sure that officials, technicians and workers acquire technical knowledge fit for their shops and jobs by constantly updating the database of sci-tech learning space and for perfecting the integrated production system at a high level as required by the IT era.

The field consultative meeting discussed the issue for the leading economic officials to make it a habit to carry out the Party's resolutions in an absolute and unconditional manner and conduct operation and command in an efficient and determined manner so as to expedite maintenance and reinforcement, the issue of satisfying the demands for iron and steel in various sectors of the national economy through an increased production drive and the issue of paying special attention to the supply service for employees, and took relevant measures.
