The 74th candlelight procession was launched in Seoul on Jan. 20 to demand the resignation of Yoon Suk Yeol and the special inspection of Kim Kon Hui.

Crowds from far and wide took part in the gathering held around the puppet presidential office.

Holding up placards and slogans such as "Impeach Yoon Suk Yeol", the participants denounced the criminal acts by the Yoon group engrossed in arrogance, self-complacency, arbitrary practices, incompetence, ignorance, war and security crisis, destruction of people's life, fascist suppression, corruption and other misrule.

Speakers at the gathering said that the prevailing war crisis on the Korean peninsula is due to the Yoon Suk Yeol group, declaring that it is the goal and will of candlelight demonstrators to put an earlier end to the fascist dictatorial forces.

They stressed that it is necessary to impeach Yoon Suk Yeol, who has escalated military tensions by staging war drills of aggression through the tripartite war alliance, in order to prevent a war, and called for making Yoon step down by dint of candlelight action.

Then representatives from different resistance organizations, including Taegu candlelight action, Kunsan candlelight action and Inchon candlelight action, read out a joint struggle declaration calling for making the year 2024 a year of impeachment of Yoon.

The participants marched along streets, shouting such slogans as "Impeachment brings peace! Let's oust Yoon Suk Yeol triggering off war crisis!"

Speakers at a press conference held in Seoul exposed that the root cause of war crisis is Yoon Suk Yeol's hostile acts against the DPRK and that he keeps on staging joint military drills by bringing in U.S. nuclear strategic weapons and plans to involve Japan in them.

Meanwhile, civic and social organizations made public a series of statements, commentaries and resolutions to censure Yoon Suk Yeol's war hysteria.
