DPRK's Glorious Past
Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- There is the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum on a bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang Municipality of the DPRK, and a U.S. armed spy ship Pueblo is on display in the river as it is for more than half a century.

The spy ship was seized by sailors of the heroic Korean People's Army (KPA) on Jan. 23, Juche 57 (1968) during its spying operation within the sacred territorial waters of the DPRK.

At that time seven brave sailors of the KPA captured dozens of spy ship crew members in a moment.

On Dec. 23 of that year, the Pueblo incident ended up in the DPRK's triumph before the eyes of the world as it wrested a written apology from the U.S. squarely and exiled the whole of the crew from the country.

This incident was recorded in the history of decades-long DPRK-U.S. confrontation as another victory as the Korean people humbled the pride of the U.S. once again, and for the U.S., its defeat on that day was so excruciating to remember.

The incident marked a milestone in giving steady continuity to the lawful two traditions that victory is always in store for the DPRK and defeat belongs to the U.S. all the time in the showdown between them.

The Korean people remain unchanged in their will to safeguard the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

Today, the DPRK's navy has developed into a powerful service equipped with modern surface and underwater attack means under the original Juche-based army-building line of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Last year, a newly built Korean-style tactical nuclear attack submarine was launched and an underwater strategic weapon system, named "an unmanned underwater nuclear attack craft 'Haeil'", developed.

Now the "captured ship" on display hints that no one can assure that such a tragedy as the whole U.S. territory turning into a giant exhibit would not happen in case the U.S. executes the policy of strength against the DPRK, oblivious of the lesson taught by history.
