The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, in his important policy speech at the 10th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly, unfolded the "regional development 20×10 policy" reflecting the plan of the Workers' Party of Korea to level up the basic material and cultural living standards of regional people throughout the country at the earliest date possible by powerfully pressing ahead with the development of the regional industry in addition to the efforts for implementing the line of rural development.

He set forth tasks for promoting the people's wellbeing at the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK held last December. And, at the SPA session held 20 days later, he underscored the need to prop up regional economy directly linked to the life of regional people.

He said that it is the unshakable principle of the Party and the government that even though there may be differences between regions in terms of their geographical circumstances and resources, economic potential and living environment, there should be no region backward in the standard of living in the Republic's territory.

When he earnestly promised to personally take charge of the project for building regional industry factories and review and follow through the work and shoulder the heavy responsibility, the people looked up to him in tears.

Shortly ago, he convened the 19th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, the main agenda item of which was to push ahead with the "regional development 20×10 policy", and proclaimed an action plan and strategy for implementing it.

Last year saw the largest construction projects in the DPRK's history of construction, and this year, too, he unfolded a number of projects for creation and building. Since the outset of the new year, he has worked heart and soul for the good of the people, making devoted service for them.

Faithfully upholding his leadership, our people will struggle unyieldingly and dynamically to bring earlier the great change that will open up a new period of regional development for the first time in the history of the DPRK.
