The South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the UAWK dispatched its officials to farms to conduct political work for implanting the idea and spirit of the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in the mind of agricultural workers and encouraging them to improve the fertility of soil while working with them.

The UAWK committees in Unchon, Thaethan and Unryul counties organized a short-term socialist emulation for the improvement of the fertility of low-yielding areas among their branch organizations and encouraged them to apply quality organic manure to farm fields through shock brigade activities.

The South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the UAWK organized a short-term socialist emulation for land improvement among cities, counties and farms, thus improving the fertility of hundreds of hectares of land in scores of days.

The Phyongwon County Committee of the UAWK made sure that their branch committees charged themselves with more than 1 000 phyong of farm field, organized emulation for producing organic fertilizers and scattering them on fields and introduced and generalized the experience and good deeds displayed in the course of the emulation. As a result, more than one hundred and tens of branch committees of at least ten primary committees of the UAWK in the county contributed to transporting organic manure to tens of hectares of low-yielding areas.

Meanwhile, the committees of the UAWK in other provinces, cities and counties including North Phyongan, North Hwanghae, North and South Hamgyong provinces are arousing the masses to the drive for improving the fertility of soil.
