The Ministry of Railways set an innovative goal for implementing the resolution of the 19th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and has conducted organizational and political work in various forms and by various methods to carry out the freight transport plan.

It has drawn up appropriate timetables of freight cars, focusing its main efforts on transporting freight needed in different sectors of the national economy and materials for implementing the regional-industry development policy in a responsible way.

The Pyongyang Railway Bureau has pushed ahead with the work to reduce the turnaround time of freight cars and increase their transport capacity.

Hamhung, Kaechon and Chongjin railway bureaus have also increased the freight transport by strengthening the unified command system and directing big efforts to ensuring the safety of transport.
