Scientists of DPRK Conduct Positive Scientific Research Activities
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- Scientists of scientific research institutes and universities across the DPRK vigorously conduct field scientific research activities.

Those of Kim Chaek University of Technology are striving to raise the preheating temperature of the charge in the floating preheating system so as to lower the amount of anthracite and oxygen consumption per unit of product and settle the sci-tech problems arising in the normal operation of the energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace built at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex last year. They have been working hard to successfully build a real-time system for predicting the formation of waste gas in the shortest period, select a rational operation mode of the blast furnace and carry out other research projects.

Scientists of the State Academy of Sciences are also solving sci-tech problems arising in improving the quality of lyocell fibre and lowering its production costs. They has taken measures to perfect the pulp production process, fiber spinning process, etc. in order to ensure their scientific accuracy and economic effectiveness and directed all their efforts to improving all operating indices.

Scientists in charge of the modernization of the Kumsong Tractor Factory are speeding up the project for building the assembly line of combine harvesters and making preparations for manufacturing various objects after completing the production of 10-odd objects including heat treatment process.

Scientists of the Hamhung Branch are striving to ensure the normal operation of various kinds of equipment and devices at the February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex and solve the problems arising in introducing a new technology into boilers there.
