Youth League Officials Leave for Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- Officials of the youth league from across the DPRK started a study tour of Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp. A kick-off meeting took place at the plaza before the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City of Ryanggang Province on Feb. 14. Present there were Kang Sin Chang, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Pak Yong Bom, chief secretary of the Samjiyon City Committee of the WPK, officials of the youth league and members of the study tour group. The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets at the statue of Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to him. Pak Myong Jin, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report to be followed by speeches. The reporter and speakers said that the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who firmly defended the lifeline of the revolution and demonstrated the spirit of the revolutionary advance of Juche Korea to the whole world through his historic horseback march in Mt Paektu, called officials of the youth league to the strategic base of the Korean revolution, the center for education in the revolutionary traditions. They called upon all the participants in the study tour to step up the march in high spirits with redoubled courage, following the sacred footsteps of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un. Then they toured the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac and Konchang Bivouac. |
