Present there were officials of the Ministry of Culture, journalists, editors and employees of the publishing house, and teaching staff, researchers and students in the field of art education.

Ri Chol Man, director general and editor-in-chief of the publishing house, in a report said that the 50-year history of development of the publishing house is associated with the exploits of the peerlessly great men.

He recalled that President Kim Il Sung acquainted himself with the situation of art education in his early years of revolutionary leadership and clearly indicated the orientation and ways for resolving the lack of teaching materials needed for art education.

The publishing house was founded on February 16, Juche 63 (1974) under the wise guidance and loving care of Chairman Kim Jong Il, which made it possible to provide a reliable publishing base of the Workers' Party of Korea for training more reserve persons who would shoulder the future of Juche-oriented art and for explaining and propagating the Juche-oriented idea and theory on art and literature.

The publishing house has further developed into a comprehensive publishing base for art education books under the meticulous guidance and loving care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The publishing house has made successes in the work for glorifying the undying feats of the peerlessly great persons forever and published nearly 4 000 kinds of books, textbooks and reference books including the books of national treasure, thus dynamically promoting the development of the art education of the country.

He called upon all officials, journalists, editors and employees to bring about a greater upswing in the work of publishing art education books, true to the leadership of the Party Central Committee.

At the end of the meeting the participants visited the hall of a book exhibition for marking the 50th founding anniversary of the February 16 Art Education Publishing House.
