With his viewpoint and stand that one should bring a flower into bloom even on a rock if it is desired by people, he put forward the slogan "We Serve the People!" so as to make the traits of respecting and loving the people prevail over the whole Party and society.

He continued his visit to factories and farms for the people even on his birthday and holidays.

He worked heart and soul to provide the people with a happy and civilized life in the period of the arduous march, forced march and high-intensity forced march in the 1990s.

In June Juche 98 (2009), he visited the Sinchang Fish Farm. He said it is very great that we succeeded in the breeding of sturgeon in our country, expressing great satisfaction over the proud reality.

He said that he came to have greater pride of making a revolution with such pleasure and harden his will to do more good things for the people, adding that it is the fundamental principle of his activities and goal of his life to make everything serve the people.

Everything for the people! This was the firm faith and noble revolutionary practice which ran through his whole life.

Indeed, Kim Jong Il was the people's benevolent father who devoted his whole life to their happiness while regarding it as his motto to believe in the people as in Heaven.
