Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in an article dedicated to the anniversary of the agrarian reform law that land is a trophy of a bloody class struggle and a precious asset of the revolution to be defended at the cost of lives through generations. If we heed this, we will become the masters of land and the country, but if we ignore this even a moment, we will not be spared the fate of being slaves, the article says, and goes on: Although it is land that gives life to all things, for our peasants who had been once deprived of their country, land was a synonym for grudge and bloody tears. It was the historic agrarian reform that brought an epochal change by putting an end to the horrible slavery which harassed the farmers for centuries and by providing them with a genuine new life. As a result of a gigantic land revolution effected under the slogan of "Land to the tillers!", our farmers were able to fulfill their long-cherished desire to enjoy farming their own land. The process of the agrarian reform taught our people the truth of class struggle that land gained at the cost of blood must be defended in kind. Unshakable is our people's faith that land is the lifeline of the state and their precious home to be maintained and handed over through generations. As long as we have the invincible revolutionary Party, veteran and experienced, the government of the DPRK - a powerful political weapon - and the people remaining steadfast in the anti-imperialist class will, the picturesque mountains and rivers, the vast stretch of rich plains and the valuable natural resources in our country will shed its eternal light as the people's wealth which nobody will dare to violate. |
