The Ministry of Metal Industry directs efforts to increasing the production of Juche iron to supply steel plates, wire ropes and narrow gauged railroads to the coal industrial sector on a preferential basis.

Relevant ministries and national agencies, including the State Commission of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Machine-building Industry, further intensify cooperation to resolve sci-tech problems arising in speeding up improving the quality of tunneling and coal cutting equipment.

The Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials Industry and the Ministry of Railways have taken measures to ensure timely production and transport of cement needed for building the Thaesan Coal Mine under the Kyongwon Area Coal Mining Complex and turning pits of coal mines in the northern part of the country into permanent ones.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has effectively organized the work for the commissions, ministries and national agencies to render material and moral assistance to the coal industry.
