Efforts Directed to Greening Rural Villages
Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, directs efforts to greening the newly-built rural villages.

From the end of February to early March, thousands of trees of dozens of species including pine, zelkova and dawn redwood trees were planted in ten districts and counties in the city.

Officials of the city directed efforts to making afforestation design add beauty to the newly-built rural villages and set the village of the Sosin Vegetable Farm in Ryokpho District as a model for creating landscape and organized the work for showing it.

They also pushed ahead with the work to secure trees of good ornamental value.

Officials and working people in Ryokpho and Rangnang districts introduced advanced tree-planting methods to conduct tree-planting as required by a technical guideline.

In Mangyongdae District, officials organized the work for making planting of trees conducted as required by science and technology on the basis of preparations in advance.

In Taesong and Sunan districts and other areas, officials took measures to ensure the quality of tree planting and raise the survival rate of planted trees.

The city is putting greater spurs to afforestation.
