Officials and members of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League and the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the youth league carried out the planting of pine and other trees in Jonwi Street under construction.

Young people in North and South Phyongan and South Hwanghae provinces, Nampho and Kaesong municipalities and other parts of the country, too, took part in the tree-planting campaign.

Officials of the central committees of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea conducted organizational and political work to encourage all their members to take an active part in planting trees, and organized a tree-planting campaign at the construction site for a new street in the capital.

The Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea and its organizations at all levels made sure that many women turned out in the tree-planting campaign.
