The light industrial goods are associated with the efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who devoted his all to the production of consumer goods needed for the people's living.

He held a national conference of light industry in March Juche 102 (2013) and set it as the central task to put the light industry sector on the world's advanced level.

In those days, famous products and goods including Maebongsan-brand shoes, Choljuk-brand socks, Pomhyanggi-brand cosmetics, Sonamu-brand bags, Mindulle-brand notebooks, Haebaragi-brand school things have been produced and regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County were built in a modern way to produce goods favored by people.
