The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the hospital on March 21, Juche 103 (2014). He immediately solved the problems arising in the management and operation of the hospital, saying that the hospital was built to make the children grow up to their heart's content in good health.

Medical workers of the hospital have contributed to demonstrating the validity of our Party's policy on public health and the advantages of our socialist system for the past decade.

They established new Korean-style surgery methods and invented and introduced medical appliances and medical supplies with their own efforts and technology to further improve the quality of medical service.

Tele-consultations and tele-lectures have been given for the medical workers of all provincial pediatric hospitals and more than 1 690 units to improve their practical qualifications and ensure the accuracy and promptness of diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Thanks to the efforts of officials and technical team of the hospital, the information system of the hospital was completed to make it possible to exchange clinical information with certain treatment and preventive units. The hospital was thus selected as one of the ten IT model units several times.

The hospital conducted dozens of rounds of health examinations of children at baby homes, orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans in Pyongyang Municipality and took treatment measures. Its doctors also went to the nurseries and kindergartens of Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill, the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant and the Sangwon Cement Complex to conduct medical examinations and treatment of children.

Members of the medical teams took scientific measures for treatment and nutritional care of children and devoted even their blood and flesh to the resuscitation of emergency cases. Their good deeds added to the fragrance of the large socialist family harmonious with warm feelings and virtues.
