Regarding the mechanization of farming as an important policy-oriented task, Kangwon Province has secured a large number of rice-transplanting machines by tapping all its internal reserves and potentials.

North Hamgyong Province has pushed ahead with the work to generalize practicable farm implements among all the farms in the region.

Officials of the provincial people's committee and the rural economy committee prepared a lot of farming materials, and the workers of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Chongjin Steel Plant and other industrial establishments made sincere efforts to manufacture efficient farm implements.

Thanks to the efforts of officials and working people in those provinces, more than one hundred efficient rice-transplanting machines and at least 100 000 farm implements were secured, and ceremonies for dispatching them and exhibitions took place respectively on March 24.

Present there were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Yong Hwan, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials concerned and working people.

The daily-growing atmosphere of supporting the rural communities multiplies the patriotic enthusiasm of the agricultural workers who have turned out to attain the goal of grain production for this year.
