The Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eight Central Committee of the WPK set forth important tasks for the field of education, stressing the need to exert strenuous efforts to make this year the one of greater change in developing the education of the country to the level of advanced states, says the editorial, and goes on:

To draw level with advanced countries in education is a political task our Party puts forward as the core for the comprehensive development of socialism and a goal to be attained without fail in realizing the Party's plan for building an education and talent power.

The implementation of the tasks set forth by the plenary meeting of the Part Central Committee is an important guarantee for developing the education of the country in a sustainable and long-term way and making it the one that can shoulder our future.

It also provides a firm foundation for achieving the comprehensive prosperity of the state by dint of science and technology by bringing about a fresh turn in the training of revolutionary talents.

The goal and tasks set by our Party for the development of education are extremely high and enormous.

All officials and educators should raise the fierce flames of educational revolution in the new century, true to the noble intention of the Party, and thus bring about another revolutionary turn in the development of the country's education this significant year as done in last year.
