The tournament, which started in Thailand on March 31, brought together more than 460 men and women players from 110 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, Iran and Canada.

Won Hyon Sim took the first place in snatch, jerk and total and bagged three gold medals by lifting 87kg in snatch (new world record), 109kg in jerk (new world record) and 196kg in total (new world record) at the women's 45kg category.
