Songhwa Street is the precious outcome of love for the people of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who has worked heart and soul, regarding it as his cherished desire to provide them with more stable and civilized living conditions.

At the Eighth WPK Congress, Kim Jong Un stressed the need to concentrate efforts on the construction of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang, draw up plans for building 10 000 flats every year beginning from that year and to provide correct construction operation and guidance for carrying out the plans in order to mainly solve the housing problem for the citizens.

Later, he took practical and innovative measures to unconditionally finish the project for building 10,000 flats in the Songsin and Songhwa areas for Juche 110 (2021) at the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, and gave meticulous guidance to ensure the good preparations for launching the project.

Delivering a historic speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the project to build 10,000 flats in Pyongyang in March 2021, he said that the large-scale housing construction project unfolded by the Party and the state is not for any economic benefit but a noble work to thoroughly make sure that the wealth of the state and the creative labor of the working masses brought well-being to the people themselves.

Thanks to the leadership of Kim Jong Un, who examined at least 1,000 documents concerning the building project and gave top priority to solving the problems arising in the housing construction, a magnificent architectural group was put up in a matter of one year.

He visited the construction site for Songhwa Street nearing completion in March 2022 and looked round various places of the street. He said with satisfaction that the street is very spectacular and correctly mirrors the Party's idea of architectural beauty on thoroughly applying the Juche, national and modern character.

In fact, Songhwa Street is a monument of love showing his noble world of devoted service for the people's wellbeing.
