The title of candidate academician was awarded to section chief Im Song Jin and a researcher Nam Il Ryong of Kim Il Sung University, Pak Kyong Hui, a researcher of Pyongyang University of Publication and Printing, and Pak Kil Nam, a researcher of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Professorship went to nine intellectuals including Jang Kum Ju, director of an institute of Kim Il Sung University, Kwon Sung Hyok, deputy curator of the Science Library of the university, Won Kyong Su, section chief of the university, Ryom Chol Ung, a researcher of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and Kim Song Ryong, a researcher of University of Sciences.

Doctorate was conferred on 49 persons including Pak Ki Song, section chief of Kim Il Sung University, Rim Sung Il, director of an institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Myong Bok, dean of a faculty of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education.

101 persons received the associate professorship and 1 061 the master's degree.
