Progress Made in Education of Orphans
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans and Pyongyang Primary School for Orphans are directing big efforts to raising the level of education.

Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans has paid primary attention to improving the quality of political and ideological education.

Taking into consideration the age and psychological characteristics and cognitive ability of the orphans, it has turned all processes and occasions such as book session and poem recitation into effective ones for education while introducing efficient study methods.

The new teaching methods developed by officials and teachers of Pyongyang Primary School for Orphans contribute to developing the ability of orphans to think and practise independently and creatively from their childhood.

The method of foreign language extracurricular education created at the school is also popular among many units.

A pupil of the school won the first place at the tenth National Pencil Drawing Festival held this year. This is attributable to the efforts of its teachers.

The school is pushing ahead with the work to increase the numbers of holders of academic degrees and titles with the view that the ability of teachers lead to the intelligence of children and quality of education.
