Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) organizations took place at Changdok School in the capital city of Pyongyang on April 14 to celebrate the 112th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Attending it were students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, representatives of the KCU organizations in all provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and pupils joining the KCU. Present there on invitation were Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials of the youth league and persons of merit in the city. Prior to the meeting, the participants laid floral baskets and bouquets at the statue of President Kim Il Sung at Changdok School and paid tribute to him. Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report. The reporter said that the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung formed the KCU, on the basis of the Juche-oriented idea on the children's movement and rich experience provided in the days of the anti-Japanese war, and put forward the KCU members as the reliable pillars who will shoulder the future of the country. He said that the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il set forth a new slogan of the KCU and brought up the KCU members to be true sons and daughters boundlessly loyal to the socialist homeland. The noble history of love is given steady continuity on this land thanks to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who is guiding the KCU members to grow up to be ardent young revolutionaries and patriots, the reporter said. He called upon all the KCU members to prepare themselves as dependable pillars for building a powerful nation. An admission ceremony of the KCU took place at the meeting. The pupils joining the KCU made an oath, led by Kim Su Gil, and made the first greetings of the KCU, responding to the slogan "Let us always ready for socialist country!" Then followed congratulatory speeches. |
