The Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport has arranged the sailings of vessels in a rational way according to the loading capacity and technical condition and established transport control system, simultaneously taking measures for ensuring the safety of freight in a responsible way.

The crews of different cargo ships strive to transport more tons of cargoes while making full preparations for sailing and exploring and introducing methods for shortening the time of shipping service.

Successes have been made in transporting major freight including raw materials and fuels necessary for the iron works and steel plants and building materials for the construction of regional-industry factories amid the dovetailed shipping and unloading at Nampho, Wonsan and Chongjin ports.

Meanwhile, the West Sea Barrage Office has repaired and maintained dams and barrage structures to ensure the passage of cargo ships entering and leaving the ports.
