Forest Conservation Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- A campaign is being conducted in the DPRK to protect forests from damage by harmful insects.

The Forest Guidance Bureau of the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection and the relevant units are intensifying the monitoring of harmful insects in the areas and securing agricultural chemicals for exterminating harmful insects in a responsible manner.

Taesong District and Kangnam County of Pyongyang Municipality have stamped out harmful insects in hundreds of hectares of forests.

North Phyongan Province is preventing the damage by harmful insects in the special protection forest area by drones and paying attention to increasing the role of observers.

North and South Hamgyong provinces secured and used effective insecticide and germicidal agents for killing harmful insects under different conditions.

Mundok County of South Phyongan Province has built a new base for producing biological agrochemicals and Wonsan City of Kangwon Province is stamping out the harmful insects.

Similar successes have been made in North Hwanghae Province and Nampho Municipality.
