Sangphal Ponds in Mt Kumgang
|
|
Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- Sangphal Ponds mean eight big pools on Kuryong Falls in Outer Kumgang of Mt Kumgang, a world-famous mountain in the DPRK. There are small and big round pools appeared by denudation for a long time. Among them are eight big pools called Eight Ponds. They are named Sangphal Ponds in distinction from another Eight Ponds in the Manphok Ravine of Inner Kumgang. Waters from Piro Peak, Janggun Peak and Chaeha Peak stream down on the round-shaped ponds. The ponds are clear and the distance from the first pond to the last pond is about 500 meters. The scenery of the ponds is beautiful in good harmony with ravines and mountains. The ponds are registered as a natural monument of the country. |
