No one could imagine that the two-year old Korean People's Army (KPA) would repel the enemy's sudden invasion with an immediate and decisive counterattack and a general offensive on the whole front.

It was a bold decision that could be made only by the President with far-sighted military wisdom and extraordinary commanding art.

The KPA dashed ahead to liberate Seoul, the enemy's stronghold, in three days after the start of the counterattack.

In a matter of one month, more than 200 000 enemy troops were killed or captured, at least 1,100 artillery pieces, hundreds of tanks and armored cars destroyed or seized and over 380 planes shot down or damaged.

The U.S. imperialists bragged that the destiny of the DPRK would be "settled within 72 hours," but they had suffered only miserable defeat from the very beginning of the war by the unique military strategy of the President.

The KPA repelled the enemy's invasion in a few hours through an immediate counterattack. In this regard, world people praised it as a miracle unprecedented in the world history of wars.

The tradition of brilliant victory, achieved by the Korean people in the 1950s through the creation of such miracles under the guidance of the President, is now being given steady continuity under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, an ever-victorious and iron-willed brilliant commander.
