Progress Made in Chemical Industry Sector of DPRK
Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- Chemical industry establishments of the DPRK are pushing ahead with the work to build new production lines based on domestic raw materials and expand their capacities.

Officials and workers at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex finished the construction of a catalyst production base and have directed efforts to solving technical problems arising in automating production lines in close collaboration with a scientific research unit. The complex is also stepping up the manufacture and assembly of various equipment and devices necessary for melamine resin production lines.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex has pushed ahead with the project for developing the Phungnam Mine, and the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the Sunchon Chemical Complex are registering successes in the work for technical perfection of newly-built production lines.

Similar successes have been made at Sinuiju and Chongjin chemical fibre mills, the Myonggan Chemical Factory and other chemical industrial bases.
