Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans Marks Its 50th Founding Anniversary

Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans marked its 50th founding anniversary. President Kim Il Sung saw to it that Pyongyang Mirim School (at that time) was founded on August 1, Juche 63 (1974) and solved all problems arising in education. Chairman Kim Jong Il made great efforts to solve the issues arising in the living and education of the orphans. Under the care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, the school has further developed into a cradle of happiness for orphans, well known to the country and envied by the world. True to the noble policy of the Workers' Party of Korea for the rising generations, the school has brought up the orphans to be pillars of the future, possessed of noble mental and moral traits, high scientific and technological knowledge and strong physical strength, by proactively applying new methods and experience to education. In those days, they won Our Classroom Literary Prize and the July 15 Honor Student Prize, and the school won the titles of the Thrice Honored Red Flag School, twice model physical training school and model law-observance unit. A meeting took place on July 31 to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the school. Present there were Ho Ju Song, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, officials, teaching staff and students of the school. |
