Coal Mines in DPRK Strive to Boost Production
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Coal mines in the DPRK are providing fuel and raw materials needed for the production of iron and steel and chemical fertilizer in a responsible manner.

The Chonsong Youth Coal Mine under the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex raised the efficiency of the draining pump 1.5 times and has paid primary attention to reinforcing reservoirs and other facilities under the rainy season conditions.

Coal mines of the Kyongwon Area Coal Mining Complex are supplying much coal needed for the production of Juche iron.

The Namyang Coal Mine under the Tokchon Area Coal Mining Complex introduced an automated surface heat treatment equipment to prolong the serviceable life of wheels for coal wagon and electric car. In this way, it provided a guarantee for production growth.

Workers at the Kowon Coal Mine under the Hamnam Area Coal Mining Complex are solving technical problems arising in improving the safety of electric car line and the efficiency of coal transport. Officials at the Ungok Coal Mine went down coal faces to inspire the workers to collective innovations. By doing so, they are boosting the coal output.

Officials and coal miners at the Sudong Coal Mine are making successes by exploring and tapping reserves and possibilities and economizing.
