The Kwisong Salt Works, Kwangryangman Salt Works and other salt works started production in February on the basis of preparations for salt production in winter. They produced hundreds of tons of salt in the first month.

The salt works introduced rational technology to raise the salinity and, at the same time, pushed ahead with the work to raise the level of mechanization in salt production in a planned way.
