12 men's and women's teams each took part in the football matches started on September 6. The standings of teams were decided by league matches.

In the men's football matches, Ryomyong Team came first and Amnokgang and April 25 teams second and third.

In the women's football matches, the first place was taken by Naegohyang Team and second and third by April 25 and Rimyongsu teams.

A prize-awarding ceremony took place at the Kim Il Sung Stadium on Oct. 14.

Sin Yong Chol, secretary general of the DPRK Football Association, conferred trophies, medals and other prizes on the successful men's and women's football teams and players.
