Symposium on Intangible Cultural Heritage Conservation Held

Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- A symposium on the intangible cultural heritage conservation took place at the Sci-Tech Complex in the DPRK on October 23 to mark the tenth anniversary of the publication of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un's immortal work "National Heritage Conservation Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation". Present there were officials, teachers, researchers and students in the field of national heritage conservation and relevant units and exemplary officials and working people in the work for protecting intangible cultural heritages. Speeches were made by Hwang Kwang Il, director of the Bureau for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, Kang Pok Sil, a teacher of Kim Il Sung University, Mun Kyong Ho, manager of the Okryu Restaurant, Pak Ryong Un, dean of a faculty of Pyongyang University of Fine Arts, Ri Ae Ryong, a doctor of Mangyongdae District Hospital, Kyong Nam Chol, head of a department of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance, etc. Speakers said that Kim Jong Un, who is always paying deep attention to inheriting and developing the excellent culture and history of the Korean nation, has wisely led the work for protecting intangible cultural heritages. They noted that the work for preserving and glorifying the soul of the nation in all social life has been conducted with vigor over the past decade. The successes made in the work for protecting intangible cultural heritages are a precious fruition of the Workers' Party of Korea's correct policy for protecting national heritage, which regards it as an important affair of the revolution and construction to preserve and glorify the national character, they stressed. |
