The Ministry of Coal Industry carried out the plans for inclined shift tunneling and preparatory tunneling and completed the project for laying and repairing belt conveyors in more than 10 000-meter-long sections.

The Mining Engineering Institute of the Academy of Coal Mining Science completed a new technology for tunnel maintenance, and the coal mine labor protection institute developed and introduced the technology for preventing spontaneous ignition and removing gases.
