Coal Production Goes Up in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the coal industrial sector of the DPRK wage a drive for increased production.

Workers at the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex produced hundreds of more tons of coal in the first week of the year. They have produced a larger amount of coal than planned every day.

Those of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex have introduced rational blasting methods and raised the capacity of compressors and winches to register high production results every day.

Tokchon, Tukjang, Kaechon and Anju area coal-mining complexes and other coal mines across the country have striven to over-fulfill their daily coal production quotas.

As a result, the coal output increased at over 107 percent in the first fifteen days of the year as compared with the same period of last year.
