Number of Young Volunteers Grows in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- The patriotic tradition of young people in the DPRK, who set coordinates of their life and translate their ideals into reality at those workplaces called by the Party, is being given steady continuity in the advance for this year. More than 60 youths in Nampho Municipality have volunteered for outposts of socialist construction. Those in Onchon County and Chollima and Taean districts advanced into to regional-industry factories and raw material base stations. Youth league members in Waudo and Kangso districts and Ryonggang County petitioned to work at construction brigades and the Kumsong Tractor Factory. Young people in Hanggu District and graduate students of Nampho University of Education vowed to work at stockbreeding bases and branch schools on remote islets. A meeting took place at the Nampho Municipal Art Theatre on Jan. 26 to congratulate the volunteers. Present there were Choe Yong, secretary of the Nampho Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and youths. Volunteer certificates were conferred on the volunteers and speeches, including a congratulatory address, were made. After the meeting, a congratulatory performance was given. Officials and young people saw off the volunteers leaving for their new posts. |
