UAWK Officials Start Study Tour of Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Officials and primary officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) from across the DPRK started their march to Mt Paektu. A kick-off meeting of the study tour group took place at the plaza before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City of Ryanggang Province on Tuesday. Present there were Kang Sin Chang, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the UAWK and members of the study tour group. The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of the great leaders and paid tribute to them. Yun Chol, vice-chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a report to be followed by speeches. The reporter and speakers said that the officials of the union, who took part in the study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu along the course of horseback march made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, are full of enthusiasm to glorify the glorious revolutionary traditions of the Workers' Party of Korea forever and fulfill their responsibility and duty as the officials of the ideological education organization in the struggle to attain the goal of grain production set forth by the Party. They expressed their determination to be possessed of the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, indomitable fighting spirit, fortitude and revolutionary spirit displayed by anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners and concentrate their main efforts to the work for firmly preparing the members of the union to be masters of the rural revolution and thus implement the programme for the rural revolution in the new era and the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK with practical successes. After the meeting, they visited the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo and the Ryanggang Provincial Revolutionary Museum. |
