In the letter, they noted that the respected Marshal called the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan to the homeland this significant year marking the 70th anniversary of the formation of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in consideration of the ardent desire of the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan yearning for Chairman Kim Jong Il and bestowed immeasurable privileges on them every day and every moment.

The letter said that it is the highest honor to come to the embrace of the motherland for which they always yearn but they dropped tears of gratitude to the cordial hospitality they were accorded from the first moment when they placed their steps on the homeland, warmly thinking of the trust and love of the respected Marshal for the overseas soldiers.

The letter noted that they cherished again in the homeland is that the blessing of the illustrious leaders is never a good fortune for any country an any nation and that the revolutionary history and immortal feats of Chairman Kim Jong Il is given continuity every year and the dignity and glory of Juche Korea shine as the Korean people hold the respected Marshal as the head of state in high esteem.

The letter stressed that they would always bear in mind the unforgettable days they spent in the embrace of the respected Marshal and glorify their worthwhile life with patriotic faith and pure conscience just as the generation that formed Chongryon did.

It noted that they would always remember patriotism, the fundamental idea of the formation of Chongryon and the justification for its existence, and proudly leave clearer traces on the road of prosperity and development of our powerful state in the van of overseas compatriots in conformity with the idea and intention of the respected Marshal.

They wholeheartedly wished the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, the head of our state and the benevolent father of Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan, good health for the eternal prosperity of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea and the happy life and beautiful future of the people.
