City and county short courses on the Juche farming methods and provincial inter-sector passing-on-technique conferences were held to raise the scientific and technological level of the agricultural guidance officials and primary officials of rural areas and to prepare the farmers as performers of advanced scientific farming.

Paeksok and Usan farms in Sinchon County, Oguk and Toksong farms in Anak County, and many other farms have carried quality self-sufficing manure to farm fields.

Farms in Kangryong, Anak, Songhwa, Pyoksong, Ongjin and Samchon counties are increasing the production of huminite.

In the province, more than 100,000 tons of fertile soil and tens of thousands of tons of slaked lime have been secured to improve soil fertility.

All the rural communities are pushing ahead with the preparations for humus soil for rice seeding beds and rice seedling bed covering material and securing plastic sheets at the final stage as well as providing seeds, reagent for seeds treatment, etc.

After the completion of waterway cleaning at rural communities, a project for repairing several large irrigation facilities is being pushed forward under the operation and command of the province.

The work to secure more water in major and other reservoirs has been pushed ahead with at the Yonbaek Area Irrigation Management Station and other area irrigation management stations, city and county irrigation management stations and rural areas.

Meanwhile, the work to increase the proportion of mechanization in farming is being conducted.
