Passing-on-technique Conference on Immediate Farming Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- A passing-on-technique conference on sowing rice seeds, growing rice seedlings and sowing maize seeds took place at the Jehyon Farm of the South Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee in the DPRK on March 6.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, and officials of the Agricultural Commission and provincial rural economy committees.

At the conference, there were a briefing and a question-and-answer session on the technical issues arising in the multi-storey and rotary rice seedling breeding.

There were also demonstrations dealing with the processes of making nutritive rice seed cold-bed and sowing seeds and the methods of cultivating early spring potato by plastic sheet and cultivating maize by mulching.
