Tree-planting Day Observed in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- Many trees were planted across the DPRK on the occasion of the tree-planting day. Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), and officials of the SPA Standing Committee planted trees at the Songmun Revolutionary Site. Vice-Premier Kim Jong Gwan, officials of the construction headquarters of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang Municipality and military and civilian builders planted trees of good species in the Hwasong area. The children of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School who went to the Hwasong area planted trees out of their patriotism. Officials of commissions, ministries and national agencies planted trees around the Grand Monument on Mansu Hill, the Central Botanical Garden, the Monument to Party Founding and other places. Officials and working people in Pyongyang planted more than 1,500 trees in the special protection forest of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site. Officials, working people, youth and students in North Phyongan, South Hwanghae, Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces and Kaesong Municipality planted trees around the statues of the peerlessly great men, revolutionary sites, revolutionary battle sites and the cemetery of fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army in their residential areas. Tree-planting was also conducted in the Rakwon County Offshore Farm on the east coast of the DPRK where a gigantic construction is underway thanks to the loving care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. Officials, working people, youth and students planted many trees at the fairyland villages and surrounding mountains in Songgan and Sijung counties of Jagang Province. Working people in South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces and Nampho Municipality worked heart and soul to create economic forests necessary for supplying raw materials to regional-industry factories. Officials, working people and inhabitants of different regions took part in the work to landscape their residential quarters with trees of good species and flower shrubs. Officials and employees of the tree nurseries across the country fully supplied saplings to ensure the successful tree-planting. |
