Implementation of Regional Development Policy Promoted in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Cities and counties of the DPRK are pushing ahead with the work to implement the regional development policy. Kangdong County of Pyongyang Municipality directs efforts to securing hundreds of hectares of raw materials bases and increasing the fertility of soil. Meanwhile, a project for improving the soil of raw material bases is going on in Pukchang County of South Phyongan Province, Paechon County of South Hwanghae Province, Sepho County of Kangwon Province, Sinpho City of South Hamgyong Province and other cities and counties. Various counties including Jongphyong County of South Hamgyong Province, Puryong County of North Hamgyong Province and Koksan County of North Hwanghae Province sent delivery means, farm machines and small and medium farm implements to the raw material bases. Sinyang County of South Phyongan Province and Ryonggang County of Nampho Municipality take measures to supply manpower needed for the operation of raw materials bases. Taegwan County of North Phyongan Province and other counties are concentrating their efforts on securing seeds of high-yielding sugar crop, oil crop and aromatic herbs. Ragwon County of South Hamgyong Province is increasing the marine resources by creating artificial fish bank while introducing new aquicultural techniques and methods. Kilju County of North Hamgyong Province and Kim Jong Suk County of Ryanggang Province have improved the educational conditions and environment of vocational technology colleges in their regions to make progress in training technicians and skilled workers. Jangyon County of South Hwanghae Province and Janggang County of Jagang Province are encouraging the selected technicians and skilled workers to receive technical training at modern regional-industry factories and improve their technical skills through a tele-education system. Cities and counties, where modern hospitals, leisure complexes and grain management stations are being built as model ones this year, are striving to train medical workers, service workers and skilled workers. |
