President Kim Il Sung's Feats for Nation-building
Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung is a prominent leader who opened up a new era of building a prosperous state by dint of self-reliance.

He glorified the DPRK's course of nation building and development as the annals of self-reliance, regarding independence, self-support and self-reliance as treasured sword of victory in the revolution.

After the liberation of Korea (August 15, 1945), he called for those with strength to offer their energies and those with knowledge and money to offer their knowledge and money so as to contribute to the nation-building. This nation-building idea served as an important occasion in bringing about a dramatic turn in the ideological and moral sphere of the Korean people.

The cause of building the Party, the state and the army in Korea was successfully realized, thanks to the energetic leadership of the President who set forth the line of building a new country, a prosperous and independent sovereign state, by the Korean people themselves and wisely guided the struggle for its implementation.

Our Republic could proudly emerge on the world stage as an independent and sovereign state and achieve a brilliant victory in the three-year Fatherland Liberation War.

Under the leadership of the President, who definitely adhered to the original lines of building an independent national economy and of simultaneously carrying on the economic and defence construction, constantly maintaining the independent stand despite the harsh circumstances, the DPRK turned into a socialist country with the foundation of the self-supporting economy and the self-reliant defence capability.

Thanks to the solid foundations for independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in national defence provided by the President, the Korean people could make steady progress and development, creating world-startling miraculous events one after another and building many monumental edifices despite the hostile forces' continued moves to stifle the DPRK.
