Production Capacity of Dairy Products Expanded in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The goals for raising the milk production and milk processing capacity were set higher than last year across the DPRK and spurs have been put to their realization, thus bringing about a clear fruition in the implementation of the Workers' Party of Korea's childcare policy.

Pyongyang Municipality has pushed ahead with the construction of new sheds of goats and dairy cattle in some stockbreeding farms in Kangdong County and provided a guarantee for increasing the milk production including sending goats and dairy cattle to the farms.

South Hamgyong Province has boosted the milk production capacity by cultivating feed grass on a large scale and increasing the rate of increment and breeding of dairy cattle and goats.

North Hamgyong Province has made sure that a scientific breeding system were established at stock farms of several cities and counties to increase the number of goats and dairy cattle and, at the same time, prepared various kinds of veterinary medicines to reduce the death rate of goats and dairy cattle.

South Hwanghae and North Hwanghae provinces and Rason Municipality have pushed ahead with the manufacturing and installation of the spray-drying milk powder production equipment and with the technical upgrading of existing equipment.

Other provinces have stepped up the completion of the veterinary medicine production process and the installation of vacuum concentrators to lay a solid foundation for the production of dairy products.
