The construction of the irrigation machine factory furnished with modern production equipment makes it possible to lay a material and technical foundation for producing various kinds of efficient pumps and accessories for farms of the country.

An inauguration ceremony of the factory was held on April 26.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, scientists, technicians, builders and employees of the factory.

Choe Yong Song, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial Rural Economic Committee, made an inauguration address.

He called upon the officials and employees of the factory to carry out the national economic plan without fail by directing great efforts to revitalizing production on the principle of self-reliance and self-sufficiency, always remembering the trust and expectation of the Party.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the factory.
