South Hwanghae Province repaired the groundwater facilities in a short span of time and took practical measures to use water resources in agricultural production while pushing ahead with the work to fill the reservoirs with snowmelt, water of brooks and rainwater.

This year, North Phyongan Province secured millions of cubic meters of water in the auxiliary reservoirs, thus providing a guarantee for watering large areas of paddy fields including rice seedbeds and for qualitatively conducting the rice-transplantation in the right time.

North Hwanghae Province built wells, pipes and water holes to suit the specific features and conditions of the region and repaired water-holding facilities, reservoirs and irrigation structures.

Pyongyang Municipality learned about the actual condition of reservoirs and took technical measures to increase the water-holding capacity, and carried out the cleaning of main waterways in more than 380 kilometer-long sections in a short span of time.

North and South Hamgyong provinces, too, have pushed ahead with the work to secure water needed for farming while repairing the embankment in a qualitative way.
