The statement held that the role performed by the Lee regime as a main player in the adoption of the "resolution on human rights in the north" co-sponsored by the U.S. and its followers is touching off the resentment of the Koreans.

Recalling that the present authorities threatened the lives of the people through the import of American beef fraught with the danger of mad cow disease and indiscriminately cracked down upon millions of people who struggled against this import after labeling them "leftist forces," the statement said that it is ridiculous of traitor Lee to dare talk about "the human rights issue in the north."

The statement accused the Lee group of threatening the people's living through sycophancy towards the U.S. and its policy of economic bankruptcy, blocking national reconciliation, cooperation and reunification and persisting in the moves for a war of aggression against the north.

The statement urged Lee to step down at once as he has opposed the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and stood in the way of achieving independent national reunification and peace and prosperity.
