Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- The Sri Lankan national preparatory committee and the Karelia preparatory committee of Russia were formed with due ceremonies on Jan. 4 and Dec. 31 last year to commemorate the Day of the Sun and February 16.
The minister of Justice of Sri Lanka and the chairman of the Karelia Branch of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK were elected chairmen of the preparatory committees at the ceremonies.
The committees decided to hold colorful political and cultural events such as meetings, seminars and photo exhibitions on the occasions of the said significant days.
